Yacht Manager

Job Summary:

An experienced Yacht Manager is sought to oversee a portfolio of luxury yachts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and delivering the highest levels of service to owners and captains. This role requires strong organizational skills, in-depth knowledge of yacht operations, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Yacht Manager will act as the primary point of contact for owners and family offices, fostering trusted relationships through accurate and regular communication.

This is an opportunity for a creative and practical thinker to present and implement innovative solutions, stepping beyond traditional yacht management practices to drive efficiency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the safe and efficient management of yachts operating under ISM & Mini ISM.
  • Monitor and review yacht and crew certification.
  • Maintain communication with owners and family offices, preparing periodic reports and expenditure analysis.
  • Prepare and control budgets for both operational and project-based expenditures.
  • Plan and oversee yacht refit schedules, budgets, and acceptance of works.
  • Manage crew payroll, leave monitoring, and welfare strategies.
  • Handle insurance renewals and claims administration.
  • Maintain control of yacht inventories.
  • Conduct regular yacht visits and attend industry events as needed.
  • Participate in the Emergency Response Team and company audits.
  • Cover leave periods within the management team.
  • Identify new commercial opportunities.
  • Assist with ad hoc matters across departments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Yacht experience as a Captain, Chief Officer, or Chief Engineer.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC, and other maritime regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ISM yacht management software.
  • Multilingual skills (advantageous but not required).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the external refit operations, ensuring all works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

My client is a dynamic, and technically diverse team involved in various new-build and refit maritime projects. Due to an increased order-book they are looking to expand their team with a Project Manager who can mobilize quickly and contribute to our success as we take on exciting new challenges. You will have the opportunity to work in a non-micro-managed environment with flexible working arrangements, supported by a collaborative team.

 

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will be an ex-Captain or Chief Engineer with solid technical knowledge, build and refit experience (larger vessels), and an understanding of regulatory codes. You will be highly organized, a clear communicator, and comfortable managing projects from start to finish, often under tight deadlines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee new-build and refit projects from initiation to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory codes and technical standards.
  • Write clear and concise reports for stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in large superyacht new builds and, ideally, sea trials. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the technical and operational success of our builds, collaborating with leading European shipyards. The ability to ‘juggle’ multiple projects and spend time where you are most needed is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and technical support during the construction and commissioning of large superyachts.
  • Act as liaison between shipyard teams and project stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Participate in sea trials (if applicable) to validate performance and compliance.
  • Review engineering plans, systems integration, and ensure adherence to design and build specifications.

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our client's dynamic team, reporting directly to the two Directors. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple new construction and refit projects, with a focus on shipyards. You will be working on both the technical and managerial aspects of projects, overseeing construction inspections, conducting surveys, and ensuring quality across all deliverables. This is an exciting role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable with both office work and hands-on site responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage multiple new construction and refit projects simultaneously.
  • Conduct engineering systems drawing reviews and provide feedback.
  • Lead construction inspections for both steel and alloy structures.
  • Perform condition surveys and acceptance testing.
  • Work within shipyards, liaising with contractors and shipbuilders professionally.
  • Write and deliver clear, concise technical reports.

  • Strong written communication skills for report writing.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and capable of multi-tasking and prioritising.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Europe, sometimes at short notice.
  • Based in South of England for office collaboration with the team.
  • Y1 yacht ticket or unlimited ticket (bonus), surveying qualifications highly preferred.
