Superyacht enthusiasts around the world will be preparing themselves for the annual New Zealand Millennium Cup. The races will commence on the 27th January, as some of the world’s finest yachts are getting ready to sail across all manner of race courses. Boasting beautiful cruising grounds and magnificent superyachts, the prestige cup promises to exploit the Bay of Islands’ sailing week in a more beautiful manner than ever before.
This is an opportunity to explore New Zealand, a country known for its natural beauty. Expect a showcase of deep emerald coves, glistening blue seas and overall, one wild adventure. This is New Zealand by yacht. Owners, guests, Captains and crews will experience an array of races. Careful planning by the NZ Marine Exporters ensure that no matter what the conditions, a race can take place. The courses are tailored to adapt to inevitable changes in both the weather and water, this will test every yacht and crew’s professional ability, giving pundits an exceptional show. So far, sponsors include, Integrated Marine Group, Robinson Interiors, Breed Media and North Sails/Southern Spars. Many more are expected to join as the event continues to grow considerably.
If you’re lucky enough to be going, be sure to appreciate the sheer beauty of each superyacht. Every crew member is particularly passionate and equally as competitive about their job, so sit back and watch each yacht perform to its full potential – what a scene it will be.
Confirmed to be racing in the already picturesque venue is: ‘Janice of Wyoming,’ ‘Tawera,’ ‘Silvertip,’ ‘Kealoha,’ ‘Shamoun,’ ‘Steinlager II,’ ‘Allegro,’ and ‘Antaeus.’ With more entries than ever, the race promises to be a close one.
